The goal of this article is to provide information about how ConnectNow Accounting handles the entry of Payroll transactions in the general ledger. Note:This article applies to CNA Payroll users, it is not intended for users who import Payroll Journal Entries from other systems.
If you use the CNA Payroll module, payroll transaction information is transferred to Ledgers & Payables when you CLOSE the Payroll. CNA does not create a Payroll Journal Entry that you could find in the Journal Entry screen. Payroll posts directly to the General Ledger. One advantage of posting TO means that you cannot edit, void, or delete a Payroll transaction (without going through the Payroll module).
There are two ways to get payroll reports that provide payroll transaction information: You can go to Reports>Transactions>General Ledger, then filter by a custom date (the payroll date) on the configuration screen. (Transactions other than Payroll may appear in the information)
The second way to generate a report of payroll transactions is in the Payroll Module, Reports>Paycycle>Ledger Distribution.
In the Configure Reports screen, you can select payrolls, filter by category or employee, and print the report in detail or summary format.
