The E-Pay file transmits Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) requests to BluePay, creating a transaction in BluePay, who then processes this request. When the Logos Program gets an automated confirmation from BluePay, the Logos Program removes the E-Pay files.
There are times when Logos does not get that confirmation due to interference in the internet connection. When that happens, the E-Pay file does not get cleared automatically, and the system administrator must clear it. Below are the instructions to clear the files:
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN THE FILE HAS BEEN TRANSMITTED AND DELETED?
To ensure the file has been transmitted, you may go back into the Export—Export E-Pay/ACH to Processor option. If it is empty, you can assume BluePay received the transmission and sent the confirmation back to the Logos program.
If the file is still there to transmit, first check BluePay to see if the transaction made it there. You may set up BluePay to send you an automated email anytime a new transaction has been created. If you have set this up, check your email. Or, you may simply log into BluePay to look for the transaction. If you do see the transaction in BluePay or if you receive the email notification, you will want to delete the E-Pay file from your folder as shown below. If BluePay does not have the transaction, you will want to re-transmit.
To Delete the E-Pay files:
Hosted Customers: Must call support
Desktop Customers: Make sure you know the name of your live database folder. The name of your database folder may be found when you first log in as follows: It is the Data Directory item circled below.
Find your Data Directory folder and delete the epay.cdx and epay.dbf files from it. This will ensure that you do not retransmit transactions.
The path is: Logoswin\GL\(database folder)\epay.cdx & epay.dbf
The screenprint below will show you an example of where to find these files.
In case of this example it is: Logoswin\GL\DATA\epay.cdx & epay.dbf
Then, go to Logoswin\gl and run Fixdbc.bat by double-clicking on it. It will flash quickly.
Log into the software and verify the file is gone.
