CMS Networking and Installation - Could not access drive

PROBLEM: After installing CMS on a workstation, you're getting an error message "Could not access drive" periodically.

SOLUTION:  You must use a mapped drive letter instead, of a UNC (Universal Naming Convention) name format, i.e. \\server\cms4win\, in the icon properties.

Exit CMS and from your Windows Desktop, right click the CMS People Products or CMS Fund Accounting icon and choose Properties.

From the Shortcut Tab, check the Working Directory setting, directly after the -W switch.

It SHOULD NOT read with a UNC name format (-W \\server\cms4win\) as shown below:

Map a drive letter and change the icon properties to use that mapped drive letter after the working directory switch in the icon properties, as shown below:
