CMS Fund Accounting - Inserting a Signature on Check

WARNING: The printing a signature image is offered as a convenience to our users.  Control of this feature by specific password access to 'Pay Bills' is recommended.  ParishSOFT LLC and CMS are not responsible for unauthorized use or abuse of this feature.

Have your treasurer sign a bright white sheet of paper (or card stock) with a black or blue pen (felt tip works great!).

Scan the image, crop out the excess white and save it to your hard drive.

Open the image up in Paint (Start | Programs | Accessories | Paint).
Click Image | Attributes to display the Width and Height of the image.

Your goal will be to get the image as close to 324 pixels width, and 59 pixels height (or about 2 1/2 inches by 1/2 inch).

However, you cannot simply change the pixels on this screen, or it will cut off a good portion of the signature.  We need to shrink the image as a whole.  Click OK.

Click Image | Stretch/Skew.  You'll want to pop in a percentage in the Horizontal and Vertical Stretch fields that will get you as close to 324 pixels by 59 pixels.

This alters the signature slightly.  You will need to decide if this view of the signature is okay. This takes the height and width into the desired range.

Next, click Edit | Select All | Edit | Copy.

Now exit out of Paint and open CMS Fund Accounting.  Enter your master password and click OK.

Click File | Passwords | click the down arrow at Password and choose your password.  Click the Advanced button at Ledger & Payables Access.

Set the Check Signature access from NONE to FULL.   Click OK.

Click the Advanced Button at Payroll Access.

Set the Check Signature access from NONE to FULL.  Click OK.

From CMS Ledger & Payables, click Pay Bills/Print Checks and select a check to pay, click Next.

Click Close.

To insert the signature on your checks, go into CMS Ledger & Payables and click Options | Options.

Click the Change Check Form button.

Click the Insert From Clipboard button and click OK at the following warning message.

"The printing a signature image is offered as a convenience to our users.  Control of this feature by specific password access to 'Pay Bills' is recommended.  ParishSOFT LLC and CMS are not responsible for unauthorized use or abuse of this feature."

You should now be able to see the signature in the box.  Click OK.

Now when you print checks, that signature will print directly on the check!

The signature will be automatically inserted into the Payroll system as well, providing the Password access for the Check Signature in the Payroll system is set to FULL.
