PSA L&P - Checks: Why did the bank balance not change when checks were not printed?

Why did the bank balance change when checks were not printed?

Once a check number is assigned the amount of the check is deducted from the checking account balance.  The amount is deducted whether the check is printed or not. The amount would only be added back to the balance if the check is voided or deleted.

When you go to print checks, on the first screen you select the bills you want to pay and click the print checks button at the bottom.

This gives you the create checks screen. Here you may review your checks for accuracy. Once you click the Create Checks button at the bottom of this screen, a check number is assigned and the bank balance is updated by the amount of the check.
