PSFS Offering - Batches: Table Comparing Quick Entry Batches with Detailed Posting Batches

Comparing Quick Entry Vs. Detailed Batches

Batch Type Step 1   Step 2   Step 3 (Optional)
Detailed Posting Open Open Closed
Notes: At this stage the batch is open to receiving more contribution postings.  Each posting is immediately registered in the giving history, but is still open to editing.    At this stage contributions cannot be added, edited, or deleted within this batch and a new batch would have to be started.
Quick Entry Quick Entry Committed Closed
Notes: This type of batch may be likened to a digital excel sheet waiting to be imported. In the Quick Entry batch the postings are not yet in each family's giving history.   Contributions are now in each family's giving history.  To add, edit, or delete contributions to this batch, they must be done through the Detailed posting screen with this batch selected.   At this stage contributions cannot be added, edited, or deleted within this batch and a new batch would have to be started.
