How to search for a record or to filter the list for desired values

There are several tools that can be used to help find a family or member record or to filter the list for desired values.

  • Fuzzy Search: This allows you to select a category or several and then enter a search term. The list will show all records that have the term in the selected categories. It's a fuzzy search because it will return records that have the term as part of the whole. For example, if the search term is Smith, it will return records with Smith, Smithfield, Blacksmith, etc.

    • Rolodex Search: Use the Rolodex Search in combination with the sort feature to narrow down your results to records that begin with the selected letter. For example, on the Member List, sort by member type and then select 'D' from the Rolodex to filter for all of the member types that begin with 'D' such as daughter.

    • Note, you may use the Fuzzy Search and the Rolodex feature in combination.

  • Funnel Filter: You may filter your family and member lists using the funnel option. The filter options are different for each. Simply go to the family or the member page and click the funnel. From there you may filter the list using any combination of the listed fields.

  • Advanced Funnel Filter: Each list has Advanced Options for filtering. Mark the Exact Search option to ensure the filters are an exact match as opposed to a fuzzy search where the results will be included when the term is in any part of the field.
