How to change the following default values while in the process of adding postings to a batch: Fund, Contribution Type, Contribution Date, Default Donor Lookup
This article details how to change the default values before adding the next posting. If you have already added a posting and one of the values has changed, please see the article, How to edit contributions in an open batch.
You may change the default values for each of the fields with drop-down menus listed in the Defaults panel on the right side of the screen.
We suggest sorting your envelopes by the largest category and then each category within that before you begin to post. Set the Batch Detail to the largest category for each field.
Once you have completed entry for the largest group that fits the original default values, change the values in the Defaults panel according to the next set of postings.
This is just a suggestion to make entry the most efficient possible. Ultimately, do what makes the most sense for you.
