How to add contributions to a batch using a scanner
Generally, scanners can be programmed to simulate keyboard entry. In order to use a scanner to enter offering transactions, you must program it to replicate the exact steps you use when you enter a transaction by hand.
- The image below shows one example of steps that may be taken when entering a batch. This all depends on the fields you have chosen for your batch entry.
Each scanner has different options and programming functionality. ParishSOFT cannot help you program your scanner since we do not have that technical expertise. You must contact the company from which you purchased your scanner and give them the data entry parameters so they can help you program your scanner.
Make sure you program your scanner to tab between fields or to use the enter key until the last entry which is the save button. Once the scanner lands on the save button, the enter key must be used.
