Configure Batch Management to Require Batches (Why There Is No “+” on the Contributions Page)

This article explains how Batch Management settings affect contribution entry and why the “+” (Add) option may not appear on the Contributions page in ParishSOFT Offering. 

Why the “+” Button Is Missing

If Require Batches is enabled in Batch Management settings:

  • Contributions cannot be added directly from the Contributions page
  • Contributions must be entered through the Batches page
  • The Contributions page remains available for viewing postings only

This behavior is controlled entirely by the Batch Management setting.

Where to Configure Batch Management Settings

You can update this setting from the Settings page.

  1. Navigate to Settings using one of the following:
    • Select Settings from the navigation bar, or
    • Select Go to Settings from the Settings card on the Home page
  2. Locate the Batch Management section.

Require Batches or Not

In the Batch Management section:

  • Mark the option to require batches if you want all contribution postings to be entered through batches
  • Unmark the option if you want to allow direct posting from the Contributions page

Once the setting is applied:

  • The Contributions page and/or Pledges page may still be viewed
  • Posting behavior changes based on whether batches are required

Impact on Pledges

When batches are required:

  • Pledges must be entered through the Batches page
  • The Pledges page may still be used to make pledge adjustments

Save Your Changes

After updating your preference:

  • Select Save to apply the Batch Management settings
