How to void a Canadian tax receipt

If you want to re-print a tax receipt for a particular you must first void the first one. This article will walk you through how to do that.

Note: The original Canadian Tax Receipts need to be voided because the Canadian Revenue Agency says that the church must account for all receipt numbers in sequence. If one is issued it must be accounted for. If one is voided, it must be accounted for. Much like a manual ticket book of receipts.

  1. Go to the Donor Reports page.
    • Using the Navigator Bar on the left, click the carrot next to Reports and then select Donor from the expanded options.
      -or-
    • Using the Reports Card, select Donor.
  2. Click the Open Canadian Tax Receipt Summary button.
    • Narrow down the results by entering a Fund and/or a contribution date range.
    • If you are looking for a receipt for a specific person, click the magnifying glass action button in the Donor Search field.
  3. Once you have voided a receipt, it shows on the screen as voided.
    • You may change the number of records that display on the screen by clicking the drop-down carrot and selecting from 5, 10 or 20. You may also advance to the next page using the arrows.
    • If you would like to export the list of Canadian Tax Receipts that meet your filter criteria, click the export button in the lower right corner.
