CMS export for Simple Church: Instructions for FTP and zipped/compressed files

Conversion to Simple Church

From CMS to Simple Church - FTP backup thru the program or create a zip file of CMS4WIN

• To do that, find the CMS4WIN folder
• Right click on the folder and choose Send To
• Choose Compressed File
• The Compressed File will have an extension of .zip

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) instructions:

1. Open up any web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox)
2. Enter the following address: https://filetransfer.parishsoft.com (or click the link)
3. You will get a login screen. Enter the username and password received in the email from the Conversions Team
   • If you have not received a username and password, please email implementations or call ParishSOFT at 866-930-4774 ex. 262.
4. You will be prompted to change your password. Please re-enter the password we sent you, then enter a new password you will remember.
   • The password must contain the following:
     • A minimum length of 8 characters
     • At least 1 uppercase and 1 lowercase letter
     • At least 1 number
5. Click on OK to change the password.
6. Next, click the Upload button and then click the Choose File or Browse button.
7. Navigate to the location of the backup or zip file you created of your data.
8. Select the file by clicking once on the name, and click Open. 
9. Click the Upload button to complete the upload process.
   • You should now see the backup/zip file present on the screen in front of you.
10. Repeat 6 through 9 to upload any additional files needed
    • E.g. The Conversion Checklist, other data files etc…
11. Send an email to implementations  letting us know that your file transfer is complete – be sure to identify your Account # with ParishSOFT, your Parish Name, City, and State in your email
