Site Requirements for Onsite Training

This article outlines the site, room, and technical requirements needed to ensure a successful ParishSOFT onsite training. Use this checklist to confirm your training location is properly prepared before your scheduled session.

Room Requirements

Ensure the training room can comfortably support all participants and equipment.

  • Adequate room size for the number of attendees (maximum of 25 participants)
  • Seating for all participants
  • Table space for each laptop or desktop computer and note‑taking
  • Podium and a small table for the trainer
  • Secure space where equipment can remain overnight for multi‑day training sessions

IT and Equipment Requirements

The following technology is required for on-site training delivery.

Display and Presentation

  • Projector and screen or a large display with HDMI or VGA connection
  • HDMI cables long enough to reach the trainer’s laptop
  • Screen size appropriate for the room and number of attendees

Internet Connectivity

  • Broadband internet access for all participants
  • A wired internet connection for the trainer is preferred
  • DSL and U‑Verse connections are not supported
  • Minimum speeds:
    • Download: 15 Mbps or greater
    • Upload: 5 Mbps or greater
  • Internet speed can be tested at speedtest.net
  • Firewalls must allow access to:
    • https://trainingdemo@parishsoft.com
    • https://trainingdemo2@parishsoft.com

Participant Computers and Software

  • One laptop or desktop computer per participant (up to 25)
  • One mouse per participant
  • Supported browsers:
    • Chrome
    • Edge
    • Firefox
    • Safari
  • Recommended browsers:
    • Chrome for Family Suite training
    • Firefox for Accounting training

Power and Safety Requirements

  • At least two electrical circuits for rooms supporting up to 25 computers
  • Extension cords or power strips to supply power to tables
  • Power cords long enough to reach the projector and trainer's laptop
  • Tape down any cords that cross walkways to prevent tripping hazards

Audio Requirements (If Needed)

  • Microphone and speakers may be required, depending onthe  room size

Wi‑Fi Access Details

Before training begins, confirm:

  • The Wi‑Fi network name and password
  • Whether each computer requires a separate login

Hospitality and Logistics

Plan the following details in advance to support the trainer and participants:

  • Will refreshments or lunch be provided, or should participants bring their own?
  • Should the trainer bring water?
  • Building name and room location
  • Room access time
  • Training start and end times
    • Full‑day sessions are recommended from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30‑minute lunch
  • Trainer parking location
  • On‑site contact person for trainer arrival
