  • This article will teach you how to set up your browser for optimal performance with ParishSOFT Accounting, including printing checks and opening, saving, and printing PDF reports.
  • This help article assumes you have updated your Web Browser to the most recent release available. This is encouraged for browser security.
  •  ParishSOFT Accounting requires pop-ups for check printing and PDF report viewing no matter which browser you use.
  • Browser Options: Click the link to whichever browser you plan to use with ParishSOFT Accounting to learn how to set it up for optimal use with the software.
  • Multiple Tabs: Each browser page has its own session code. We have no control over that session code. Bouncing between multiple tabs in the same Browser can cause issues with that session code which may cause data to become corrupted. Some issues that have happened in the past are: transactions moved between parishes/churches, employees being moved to a different parish/church, and new transactions being inserted into old transactions in previous months/years.
  • Back/Forward Button: Using the Browser's Back and Forward buttons can cause the same issues as using Multiple Tabs and should also be avoided.

Note: keyboard shortcuts have been added and may be used when using a Windows platform.

Chrome

Chrome uses its own PDF files viewer and does not allow you to save the file as a PDF to your local drive although you may be able to do so through your Print option. Chrome allows exceptions to the Pop-Up blocker.

Edge

Edge allows you to open PDF files in Adobe Reader. It also allows you to save PDF files to your local drive, but does not allow exceptions to the Pop-Up blocker. You either block them all or you block none. With use in ParishSOFT Accounting, you must have your Pop-Up blocker turned off.

Firefox

Firefox allows you to open PDF files in Adobe Reader. It also allows you to save PDF files to your local drive, and block all pop-ups with exceptions.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is no longer supported.

Safari

Safari allows you to open PDF files in Adobe Reader. It also allows you to save PDF files to your local drive. You may also block pop-up windows for: A website in the list; All websites that aren’t currently customized; All websites:  Although keyboard shortcuts may be used on a Windows Platform, not all keyboard shortcuts are compatible with the Safari browser. We recommend Safari users continue using the mouse. When printing a report, use the View PDF button to obtain proper formatting. If you use Print Preview, export the PDF before printing.
