How to archive an account with a budget

You cannot archive an account with a budget in the current or future year. If the account has a budget in closed years, the software allows you to archive it.

To find out if the account has a budget:

  • To see many accounts or years at once: Go to Reports → Budget/History → Monthly Budget/History 
  • To see one account one year at a time: Go to Process → Budget Entry → Current Year Budget (then Next Year Budget, then Next Year + 1 Budget)

If the account must be archived, remove any budget amounts through the Budget Entry screens. Note, this will change reports comparing budget to actual amounts.
