How donors are notified when their submission has been declined or when their payment method will expire soon

  1. One time gift: When a donor gives a one-time (Give Now) payment, if their payment method is incorrect or expired, they will get the following error message: Your submission has been declined. This can happen for a number of reasons (ex: Bad CC Number, Mismatch on Address & Zip Code, Invalid Expiration Date, etc...).

  2. Recurring scheduled gift: If they give a scheduled gift and their payment method is incorrect or expired, then they will get an email with the following error message:


  3. Recurring scheduled gift - expiring: If a donor's recurring gifts have been going through but their payment method expires soon, they will be notified of the coming expiration for the final three scheduled payments before the expiration.
