When attempting to merge a duplicate family into a master family using Duplicate Checker Wizard, psFamilyDir Message Box display "The Master Family and the Duplicate Family both have the same DiouniqueID(#). The application cannot perform the requested action."
Upon clicking "Next >" on the "Preview Merged Family" windows of the Duplicate Checker Wizard, user is presented a psFamilyDir Message Box displaying the following (see attached screenshot):
The Master Family and the Duplicate Family both have the same DiouniqueID(#). The application cannot perform the requested action.
Please contact ParishSOFT Support regarding this issue.
Please inform Support of this DiouniqueID (#).
NB: the following process must be done separately for each duplicate family, should there be multiple, i.e., do this process for first duplicate, have customer run duplicate checker, than repeat for each additional duplicate, have customer run duplicate checker each time. Otherwise, customer will get a “The member records cannot be found..." message when running duplicate checker.
- Open parish database file
- On each of the following tables, insert a negative (-) before the DiouniqueID (#) for the Duplicate family, leaving the Master DiouniqueID positive: Members, MasterMemberindex, Contributions, Pledge
- Close database
- Instruct customer they'll now be able to merge the families
