You'd like to assign a position to a staff record, but it keeps showing as "unknown" and you might also be getting the error "Primary position cannot be removed." Here's how to resolve:

1. Select Edit Details. 
2. Check the box next to the desired position in the list. The position should then move directly below "unknown."
3. Drag and drop the correct position so that it is above "unknown."

4. Uncheck "unknown".
5. Click Save.
