ParishSOFT New Platform FAQ

Important Notice: This article applies to the New ParishSOFT Platform. If your diocese hasn’t migrated yet, explore our knowledge base for relevant resources.

How do I navigate to a new organization?

  • In the top left corner of the screen is the organization selector.  From that dropdown you can select which organization you want to navigate to.

Is there a way to open more than one module at a time?

  • Yes, multiple modules can be opened by right-clicking on the module icon and selecting Open in New Tab from the list.

What is the difference between a Universal Admin and a Organizational User?

  • Organizational Users can only be added through a Diocesan account and they will automatically be granted read only permissions to all child organizations and their modules.
  • Universal Admins will have full read/write permissions to that particular organization
  • If you want a user to have access to all child orgs and have full read/write access the user must have the Universal Admin AND Organizational User checkboxes checked.

Where is the Facility Calendar module?

  • Facility Calendar can be found in the Families module on the left navigation bar

How do parishioners register for My Own Church?

  • My Own Church is now known as My Parish in the new ParishSOFT platform,  Unfortunately, My Parish does not allow parishioners to self register. Parishioners must be invited to the new ParishSOFT platform by parish admins.
  • Follow this article to learn how to Invite Parishioners to My Parish

What happened to the Suspense Activity page?

  • Since parishioners are no longer able to self register for My Parish, there is no longer a New User Registration or Religious Education Student Registration.
  • Family Directory updates can be found in the Administration module under Suspense in the left navigation bar.

Why do the users I created in the New Platform only have view permissions?

How to grant access to the Administration module in Families?

  • In the Administration module navigate to Manage Staff and select the desired staff member
  • In the ParishSOFT group, select the Administrator checkbox to give the staff member rights to access and make edits in the Administration module.

Why do I need to set permissions separately between the New Platform and each module?

  • Permissions have been separated from the New Platform and each module so as to allow for specificity on what each user is allowed to do in each module.
  • Parishioners who use My Parish are also part of the New Platform but do not need admin permissions to the other modules.
