The envelope number is an arbitrary, user-assigned number in Family Suite. No giving history is associated with an envelope number. The giving history is associated with the family, and the envelope number is also associated with the family, separately.
- When you change the envelope number for a family, the family keeps all giving history.
- When you re-assign an envelope number from an old family to a new family, the old family's giving history does not transfer to the new family and all of the new family's giving history is associated with their new envelope number.
