How to prepare for moving from Logos Accounting
How to keep a record of your historical data
Backup: Since creating a backup of your Logos data through the software automatically encrypts the backup (requiring a restore to Logos to read the data), you will be better served in the long run if you get an un-encrypted copy of your data.
- If your application resides on a local server or computer, you will find an un-ecryped copy of your data in C:\Logoswin\GL\data. This is accessible through FoxPro. In some cases, you may be able to import this data into Microsoft Access. You may need to hire an IT specialist to perform this task.
- If your application is hosted, you must request an unencrypted copy of your data folder from support.
PDF: You may save all files electronically to a PDF file. This is the best option for historical reference rather than data transfer (as in to another software system).
CSV: You may save all files electronically to a CSV file. This may be a good option if you intend to import your data into another software option.
