How to resolve the error: Records cannot be deleted when a member has an active staff assignment
- Check to see if any member in that family has a username on the General tab.
- If a username exists, search for that user in your list of staff members. This requires that you have administrator access. If not, please notify your business manager to resolve.
- Give that staff assignment an end date and save changes.
- Proceed to go back to the Family List and delete the family.

Their names do not exist on the staff management page. But when I try to delete them, it says I can't, because they have an active staff assignment. None of them were ever staff.
Hello, Katherine. I see you opened a ticket with our support staff. That is the correct thing to do in this case. Support will have to take a look at why this is happening.
