Fields on the SEP Requirements Panel

The table below lists and defines the fields in the Requirements panel.

Description

Requirement

Name of the requirement. Examples: Driver Training, Drug Test, Background Screening.

If a requirement has attachments, a paperclip icon icon_paperclip.png is displayed to let you know that a file is attached. The number in parentheses indicates the number of attached files. 

Related Assignment       Shows all assignments the requirement is tied to.
Status

Indicates the status of the requirement as one of the following:

Depending on your organization's policies, you may choose to use all or just some of the Status options in this list to track requirements.

  • Not Started: The requirement has been requested, but work toward completion has not yet begun.
  • In Process: The individual is actively working to complete the requirement.
  • Pending Application: The requirement is awaiting action by the individual.
  • Review Needed: The requirement is pending an approval or denial decision from your organization.
  • Completed: The requirement was completed.
  • Hold: (typically used for screening—not training—requirements) indicates that the screening check associated with the requirement returned information that prevents the individual from serving in the assignment.
Started The date the requirement was created (entered into the system). Typically, today's date is entered into the field, but you can specify a different date. The system calculates the due date based on the date entered into this field.
Completed The date the individual completed the requirement. The system calculates the expiration date based on the date entered into this field.
Due The date by which the requirement must be completed.
Expires The date after which the requirement is no longer in effect.
Requirement Method

The method used to fulfill the requirement. Examples of methods used to fulfill a requirement include an online course, in-person training, and passing a grade on an examination. Select the desired option.

The options appearing in this dropdown list must be pre-configured in the Settings > Lookups page. For instructions on creating options for this list, go to Create SEP Lookup Options for Requirement Methods.

Notes Comments field where a user can enter notes about the requirement.
Admin Notes Comments field where an Admin user can view and enter notes about a requirement.
External ID

Unique identifier that references the requirement in an external system. The field is important for maintaining referential integrity between the two systems (SEP and the third-party provider).

This field is optional. Accepts alphanumeric values.

Access to this field is controlled by the Individual Requirements > Modify permission. Only users with this permission are allowed to add and edit a value in the field.

Source

Identifies the source of the value in the External ID field.

This field is optional. Accepts text values.
