If your organization has position types that have never been used in any assignment records, you can easily remove them by following these instructions.
To retain the historical integrity of SEP data, the system does not allow you to remove position types that have been used in any assignment records. If you discontinue using a position type, you should deactivate it. For instructions, go to Deactivate an SEP Position Type.
- Click Settings to open the Settings page.
- Select the Positions tile to open the Positions page. This page lists the position types currently defined for your organization.
- The page opens in grid view. To view the page in card view, click this button in the toolbar:
- Find the position type you want to edit and click the position type title.

- You are prompted to confirm the deletion.

The system displays a message to inform you that the update was successful.
The system removes the Position from the dropdown lists throughout the program.
