Find People in SEP

This article shows you how to find people in your system.

When searching for people, you can use both methods together to get better results. For example, you can use the first method below to find Maria Sanchez and then use the second method to apply filters to find the Maria Sanchez who has an assignment at St. Marks or the Maria Sanchez who is a catechist.

Using Specific Search Criteria to Find a Person

  1. On the Home page, click the Individuals tile to open the Individuals page.
  2. Above the Individuals grid, click the down arrow on the search.png button.
  3. On the displayed menu, select one or more search targets. For example, to search for a person by their first name and maiden name, select the First Name and Maiden Name options in the Search menu:search drop down.png
  4. In the Search field, type all the letters or some of the letters for the target you selected.
Using our example, type the individual's first name and maiden name into the search field:

  5. Click search.png.

The system looks for the individual matching the criteria entered into the search field and updates the grid with the results of the search.

Using the Filter Panel to Find People

  1. On the Home page, click the Individuals tile to open the Individuals page.
  2. When you need to find a group of people that match specific search criteria, use the filters in the Filters panel. For a list and description of these filters, go to the Filters panel.

If the Filters panel is not visible, click filter icon.png in the toolbar to open it.

For example:

  • To find all individuals in volunteer positions, select the Volunteers filter in the Position Category group:position category.png
  • To find all individuals whose requirements are expiring during a certain date range, enter From/To in the date range selector for the Requirement Expiration filter:

  • To narrow down a search, apply multiple filters. For example:
    • To find all active catechists, select the Expired filter in the Requirement State group and the Volunteers filter in the Position Category group. The system shows which filters are selected in the area above the Individuals grid, as shown below:current filters.pngTo find all employees with overdue medical physicals, select the Employees filter in the Position Category group, the Medical Physical filter in the Requirement group, and the Overdue filter in the Requirement Status group.
