The Family/Member Workgroups feature in the Families module allows you to organize and manage groups of families or individual members efficiently. Workgroups are useful for segmenting your directory into smaller, purpose-driven groups—such as committees, ministries, or event participants—making communication and administration easier. This article provides step-by-step instructions for creating and deleting Family/Member Workgroups, ensuring you can maintain an organized and up-to-date directory.
Create a Family/Member Workgroup
- In Family Directory, navigate to the Family/Member Workgroups tab.
- In the Workgroups section, click
to display the Add Family/Member Workgroup window.
- An asterisk indicates a required field.
- Type a name and description for the workgroup. The character limit for the Name field is 100 characters.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Save to save the workgroup. You return to the Family Workgroups page. The workgroup is listed in the Workgroups section.
- Click Cancel to exit the window without saving your workgroup information.
Delete a Family/Member Workgroup
- In Family Directory, navigate to the Family/Member Workgroups tab.
- In the Workgroups section, check the box of the workgroup to delete.
- Click
to delete. You are prompted to confirm the deletion.
- Do one of the following:
- Click OK to delete the workgroup. You return to the Family/Member Workgroups page. The workgroup is no longer listed in the Workgroups section.
- Click Cancel to prevent the deletion. You return to the Family/Member Workgroups page. The workgroup is still listed in the Workgroups section.
