Recording Attendance Using Smart Attendance (Mobile Workflow)

Smart Attendance allows catechists and administrators to quickly record student attendance from a mobile device while still accessing the full functionality of ParishSOFT Family Suite. This guide walks you through logging in, navigating to the Religious Education module, and updating your class attendance.

  1. Open your browser and go to your parish’s ParishSOFT Family Suite login page.
  2. Enter your Username and Password.
  3. Tap Login.

  4. After logging in, scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Full Site.
    • This loads the desktop version of Family Suite, which is required for recording attendance.

  5. In the main navigation menu, select Religious Education.

Note: If you are not redirected to the Religious Education module, ensure pop-ups are allowed in your browser settings.

  1. Inside the Religious Education module, select Attendance from the left navigation panel.
    • The Attendance Dashboard will open with available terms and sessions.

  2. Use the dropdown menus to filter to the correct class:
    • Select the academic year.
    • Choose the appropriate session.
    • Filter by grade or class if needed.

  3. Scroll horizontally to the far right of the attendance grid.
  4. Tap the pencil icon next to the class you want to update.

  5. For each student:
    • Tap the status dropdown.
    • Select the appropriate attendance code (such as Present, Absent, Tardy, Excused, or Online).

  6. Once all students are updated, tap Done to save.
    • The system will update attendance records for the selected session.
