How do I know if my batch is in balance?
A batch that is not in balance will not allow you to move to the next stage in the Create → Review → Close process. Here's how to see if your batch is in balance and if not, what to do about it.
- Pull up the batch in question.
- Go into the Postings page.
- At the top of the Postings page, you will see the numbers that represent the counts and amounts entered into the Batch Details page and the actual counts and amounts you have entered through the postings.
- If the numbers on each side of the slash match, the batch is in balance.
- If the numbers do not match, the batch is not in balance. See How to fix a batch that is not in balance.

How to fix a batch that is not in balance
First, you must determine if the batch is out of balance because of an errant posting or because the initial counts and amounts entered on the Batch Detail page were incorrect. Once you have determined that, you may update the correct records.
- To get a list of postings, see the article, How to export contribution and pledge records from the Batch Postings page.
If you have reviewed the batch and know the postings are correct, you will want to update the counts and amounts on the Batch Detail page.
If you know your initial counts were correct and have not yet reviewed the postings, you must review the batch which includes editing any incorrect posting you find.
